Make the most of your Mac!

Are you puzzled about why Microsoft Word is reformatting text without your consent? Are you getting mysterious error messages when trying to send email, navigate a website, or print a file? Are your programs running much more slowly than they used to? Is it driving you nuts that you can't find a file you were working on just the other day? Are you overwhelmed with your new digital camera and wondering how to deal with the vast quantities of photos it's producing?

DON'T DESPAIR! Spend an hour or two in a focused tutorial with me and save yourself countless hours of frustration, wasted time and dead ends. Don't let your computer run you ragged -- instead work smarter and make the most of your Macintosh investment.

You'll accomplish your regular tasks more efficiently, learn to do things you never thought were possible, and in general be more productive using your Mac.

What can I do for you?

If you're planning on purchasing a new Mac Pro, MacBook, MacBook Pro or iMac, pre-purchase consulting with me can be helpful to choose the hardware and software that best meets your needs. I can help you determine how best to make the transition to Apple's new Intel-based models, and which software is available in the optimized Universal Binary format.

I can help you set up your new Mac and peripheral devices (printer, scanner, PDA, iPhone, hard drive, digital camera, etc.), build a network for your home or office, and get you online via cable, dial-up, wireless -- you name it. I cover basic introduction, customizing and optimizing your system, organizing your files, installing and learning applications, and troubleshooting -- and I’ll teach you loads of tips, techniques and shortcuts to make using your Mac more productive and enjoyable.

I can create personalized cheat sheets that explain any procedure in a way you understand, and to which you can refer after our session.

I make house calls!

I work with you as a tutor/trainer at your home or office, in metropolitan New York City. After one or more sessions at your location, I can also offer ongoing coaching and support via telephone and/or remote screen sharing, an application that allows me to work with you through your Mac while at my office. Remote screen sharing also enables me to provide online interactive tutoring in a virtual classroom -- from extended training sessions to brief "refreshers" that focus on one or two tasks at hand. For your independent study, I'll recommend reading materials and tutorials -- online, in print, and in video.

Who am I?

A passionate Mac user since 1988, I provided Mac training and support to users in the New Hampshire Seacoast area for many years, before relocating to New York City in 2007. It is my job to completely immerse myself in the world of Macintosh, stay up-to-date on the latest developments by scouring websites and literature, extract the information that’s relevant to your situation, and then tailor it in such a way that you can absorb it easily, regardless of your skill level. I am an Apple Certified Help Desk Specialist, and my membership in the Apple Consultants Network helps keep me abreast of the latest in Mac developments and troubleshooting.

You may have recently purchased your first Mac or have been using one for years. You live or work in metropolitan New York City. You use a Mac at home or at work or both. You’re a beginner or intermediate or advanced Mac user, and you’d like to learn more about the operating system or specific software programs such as Adobe Photoshop or Microsoft Word.
